Lead Data Scientist

DESCRIPTION KEY ROLE

QS-2 is seeking a data scientist to perform and lead a project combining state-of-the-art publication, bibliometric analysis, and “Science of Science” (SciSci) analysis with the related survey datasets as well as patents and leading publication indicators. The project will deliver a queryable database with on-the-fly dynamic visualizations for addressing bespoke policy-relevant research studies and will allow remote query, interaction, and advanced machine learning and Natural Language Processing-based analysis. Primary responsibilities include:

  • Lead project management through schedule tracking, task monitoring, client engagement, and robust communication with team and leadership
  • Develop end-to-end project data and visualization pipeline including database, data cleaning and linking, machine learning modules, dynamic visualizations and dashboards, and external APIs
  • Construct bespoke machine learning algorithms involving large network analysis, Natural Language Processing and time series analysis and prediction

QUALIFICATIONS

Basic Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience with Python including pandas, matplotlib, scikit-learn and neural network packages suck as TensorFlow
  • Expertise in Natural Language Processing (for example topic modeling, word embeddings, etc.)
  • Experience with large network analysis and visualization (NetworkX, igraph or other packages)

Synthetic Biologist

DESCRIPTION KEY ROLE

Work as a technical consultant with the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Biological Technologies Office (BTO) to support the development and management of current and planned programs at the intersection of synthetic biology and bio-manufacturing that aim to understand and develop next-generation biomanufacturing systems to incorporate novel chassis organism and biological-based manufacturing of critcal molecules in space and extreme environments.

Senior Nuclear Engineer

Transportation Engineer

DESCRIPTION KEY ROLE

Work as a technical consultant supporting research on advanced ground and aerial vehicle technology and their integration into transportation systems. Provide technical, business, and policy analysis support for projects related to vehicle automation with clients. Financial Compliance Analyst

DESCRIPTION KEY ROLE

Provide financial analysis of invoices for energy-related project portfolios. Review and analyze submitted invoices and perform in-depth financial analysis of federal, cost share, and category amounts along with verifying invoice costs against OMB and FAR cost regulations. Financial and Program Management Analyst

DESCRIPTION KEY ROLE

Provide onsite contract and financial management of multi–performer government research programs. Track performer deliverables, monitor contract performance, and liaise between client and external government organizations.
